Welcome to English Studies Free Periodicals (ESFP)

ESFP’s aim is to provide a classified compilation of research journals in the field of English language, literature, culture, education, linguistics, communication, educational technologies and translation. It pretends to organize a virtual online library on these topics and facilitate the access to a wide range of high quality free periodicals.

The name of the journal (underlined in blue) links directly to the main page of the journal site.

To make your search easier, you can also have access to the journals in three different ways from the right column and the bottom:

-The first section (Browse the shelves, right column) displays all the included journals with direct links to them.

-The second section (Key words, right column) offers a classification by topic based on the keywords provided by each journal.

-The third section (Index Catalogue, bottom of the central column) lists all the journals in alphabetical order. It links to a full description of each journal in the main body of the page (+ info). By clicking on the name of the journal you can also get access to the journal.

We will appreciate any comment about the selected periodicals as well as information about new journals not included here. Thanks for your help.

The Reading Matrix: An International Online Journal

The Reading Matrix: An International Online Journal is a peer-reviewed professional journal with an editorial board of scholars in the fields of second language acquisition and applied linguistics. The journal seeks to disseminate research to educators around the world. It is interested in exploring
issues related to L2 reading, L2 literacy in a broader sense, and other issues related to second language learning and teaching.
The Reading Matrix was created as an interactive journal, not an electronic version of a traditional print publication. The journal is published twice a year exclusively on the World Wide Web. Doing so allows us to reach a broad audience. It also provides a multimedia format more suited to some of our goals as we explore language as it taught and learned in both taditional and hypertextual environments, and it facilitates and encourages dialogue and communication from researchers and educators, offering an international perspective on the issues presented. As an online journal, we are committed to providing a forum for alternative modes of inquiry and viewpoints about the nature of literacy practices of diverse groups of persons around the globe.
